With Governor Landry pulling off the Kiffin and Wade hires, has he locked up reelection regardless of what he does from a political standpoint? (Assuming Wade and Kiffin win)

It seems like he is pretty widely hated from a governing standpoint, but LSU sports is sacred in this state. Genuinely what other selling points does he have besides “I got us Kiffin and Wade?” Will he even need any other selling points?

I don’t think most voters care about this. Or at least, they don’t care enough to make it influence their vote.

The state just pulled 100 billion in economic development this year. Crime is going down and he single handily turned LSU around from wokeness

I'm not sure how much he really had to do with this, but it's ultimately worthless to the average Louisianian. His fealty to the lawyer economy that chokes the state to death is a far bigger problem, but not one I expect any other candidate to address.

It doesn't look like we're ever getting a good option, so frick it. Why not?

He didn’t “get” jack shite. Kiffin and Wade are both being paid ENORMOUS amounts of money to coach college sports teams. That, ultimately, is why they’re here.

Landry did make a huge arse of himself during the Kiffin saga, though, even saying things like “we don’t need to even pay coaches that much.” Thankfully the real power brokers stuffed that USL whimp in a locker before he did too much damage.

Jeff, fix Perkins from the Underpass to the on ramp next to Acme. I think it's called the merchant underpass area or something- unfinished sidewalk going on 6 years now. Fix this shite

You think this is something the state is responsible for?

fricking over this State by cancelling the diversion project may be a bridge too far, Lane Kiffin or not.

Nevermind. Stupid comment.
Tim Temple was elected & Landry is fighting him.

No one is going to see this as his accomplishment. Most of those contracts were set up before he was elected.

A lot of people are going to see the defeat he suffered trying to rush those tax hikes through. He’s a lame duck governor, and his approval rating keeps going down. No chance he gets reelected.

He’s been able to keep that and his coziness with the trial lawyers out of the spotlight, I find it hard to believe that if Trump endorses him that he won’t win.

Bruh. That's an elected position. They don't even like each other.

A bunch of people in this thread complaining about things that don’t even make sense.

The insurance commissioner is an elected position. Tim Temple won because he was unopposed after the other person dropped out.

All 100% factual. I can’t imagine why anyone would downvote the post. Landry has increase state police presence in the Quarter which has led to decreased crime.

And LSU was turning into Southern Univ with the democrat governor and woke president. I’ve had 2 daughters at LSU the past 6 years and it was getting quite ridiculous. Hopefully they completely change the admissions requirements that the previous president put in place.

He secured my vote with just the LSU hires. Landry is the #1 reason Kiffin and Wade are at LSU.

1) I'm not a big Landry fan, but I would vote for him over any Democrat.

2) By being thr driving force behind A) The firing of both Kelly and Woodward, and B) The hiring of both Kiffin and Wade, Landry has shown me that he has leadership skills. Hardly the best speaker, but it's more important to actually get things done.

So yes, he'll get my vote. He was going to get it in the general election anyway, but I feel better about him now.
