Sheerin and Fontenot saved our arse. Move Schmidt to Friday, start Evans Saturday, and start Fontenot or Sheerin Sunday until Cooper Moore is healthy

Leaving him in too long was a mistake. After walk 2 he should have come out.

Guidry is a textbook closer. Hes the curveball version of Zach Hess. He closed the national championship game in 23

Yes starting Guidry was a mistake. But Evans should stay Friday night, Schmidt Saturday, and I would give Williams the ball next Saturday.

I disagree because Evans was arse early against KY. You need your Friday guy to be elite and Schmidt has been elite. Evans can be at times, but he sucked against KY early. Move Evans to Saturday and make him prove he can be consistent

Yorke fielding the pop-up foul ball could’ve changed the first inning. After that you knew they’d plate at least 1

Evans walked batters early and you’re blaming that on Yorke? Your Friday starter should not walk multiple batters in the early innings

I like Williams and was really happy to see him have a good bounce back game Sunday. But I wouldn’t put him in as a starter yet. Let him build on the positive performance out of the pen.

Sheerin isn’t perfect, but he will typically pound the zone and shouldn’t issue a lot of walks. He may give up some hits, but the walks have been the bigger issue for us this year.

This is not a bad option as well. I just like Williams as a lefty. Lefty's give most teams problems. Especially since we already have to right handed starters as a change of pace

Do you like Williams more than Paz? Both are lefties and Paz has more upside

Yes minus last appearance. Williams hasnt pitched as well as he did last year and hes a year older. He's going to figure it out and be a big piece moving forward.

Williams wasn’t ever projected as a first round draft pick. Paz was, and the only reason he made it to college is that he had an injury. LSU would never have gotten Paz if it wasn’t for that injury. Williams was never in that conversation.

75% of this board could have closed the 23 championship game.

I would think CJJ knows this as we do. Trying to use Riley Cooper as a starter at the start of '23 was a mistake. Jay learned and we moved on.

Paz is right handed and absolutely cannot be trusted to start in conference play.

He'll be good next year, but I don't want him pitching meaningful innings at all right now. shite, I'd rather Ricken/Zion if we're going to a freshman.

Good pitchers do that
Alex Lange would do this more often than we like to remember. He would finally settle in and get out of trouble with minimal damage.
Then cruise another 6 scoreless innings

Cowan needs to start on saturday. I like the advantage we get with Schmidt on Sunday it comes down to Sunday whether we win the series or not usually.

I think he started guidry because he usually doesn't walk batters and he can field the position well. that is a need when playing teams that like small ball
