He also played Maverick’s commanding officer in Top Gun.

Didn't have much screen time in Top Gun but was a very memorable performance.

I've always thought it was funny that he's never called anything but Sir in Top Gun. Have to read the the credits to see his call sign is Stinger.

I forgot he also played the principal in Problem Child 2, kind of a callback to his role as principal in BttF. He just had an "authority figure" look about him.
