Will be moving there in a couple months. Seems like the best apartments are in the east of the city, east of UTPB. Stock up on bottled water?

Give me the bad and the good (if there is any)

It sucks out there if you're single.

I know. I would have to commute from midland to Odessa every day or at the very least 3 times a week. It should only be about 6 months so I think I might as well just live in Odessa tbh

There is a lot of money to be made out that way. That’s about all I have….

ETA: Honestly, I have never found anywhere that I just absolutely couldn’t live. There are like-minded people in every town….you just have to find the folks that you want to be around and the places you want to be!

Balmorhea pool. McDonald observatory. Alpine Texas. Marfa Texas. Guadalupe peak. Chisos mountains. Lajitas. If your willing to drive a few hours there are some unique experiences.

Everyone I know who moved to Midland Odessa for work only stayed a few years. Basically got their money or career advancement and got TFO. The two people I know form Odessa are kind of strange. Not bad, just different.
My work visits there only reinforced my notion that I would not enjoy living there. Best of luck.

I been there a few times for work 5-10 years ago. I don't know if I ever could live there. In your case 6 months isn't bad.
Stay off of Hwy. 385 if possible. One of the most dangerous highways in America.

i’m living in Odessa now.
been here just over 3 years now.

warning about the apartments in those areas.
they’re in a racket with a local towing company and sorta make up their own parking rules as they go.

so don’t be shocked to wake up and your vehicle is gone.

it probably wasn’t stolen, it’s just at the local impound lot.

don’t know if this was a typo or not.

385 is Andrews Highway and isn’t bad at all.
285 further west around Pecos is called the “Death Highway” for a reason though.

I had the misfortune of being born in that shithole. Last time I was there was early 2000s, can't imagine it had gotten any better.
