I was a kid when Big Baby was at LSU so didn't get to enjoy it in it's fullness. Loved watching Marcus Thornton and Garret Temple when they were there..
However, I was a student when Will Wade won the SEC. Maybe I was just too young to appreciate it, but I don't remember another time when there were students packed in from the floor to the top of the arena. Lines started forming for the student section hours before tip off and the PMAC was rocking.

I don't expect a natty by any means, but THAT energy coming back to BR for basketball is incredibly exciting. I imagine that will be the norm again by years 2 and 3, maybe as soon as year 1 if the current student body was tuned in from 17-22

So, we should've hired John Brady.

80's and early 90's era was crazy. Student section was raucous and loud, Mike dropping from the ceiling pregame, Check out the old UNLV and Loyola Marymount games form that era. Insane.

LSU basketball in the 80s and 90s had one of the best atmospheres for any sport anywhere. The PMAC was one of the best places for college basketball (and the Dome when LSU played to record-breaking crowds there).

Wade had a good thing going and had some very good atmosphere too. LSU basketball fans will be pretty hungry for success, so I don't imagine it will take much to start getting good crowds again at the games and bring life back to the PMAC.

To bad you weren't around for the Chris Jackson, Shaq era. I still can't believe we didn't make a final four with that team. Had two centers that were 7 feet tall. And you knew when Jackson came up the court, a three pointer was almost automatic.
