Between October 2024 to May 2024, the two boys created 347 sexual deepfake images and videos of 60 girls; 48 of them were other Lancaster Country Day School students, the other 12 were acquaintances of students in the photos, and all but one victim was under the age of 18.

Boys were juveniles when the crimes occurred (presumably under 18).

From an article previously: The two boys pleaded guilty to 59 felony counts of sexual abuse of children (manufacturing child sexual abuse material) and criminal conspiracy to commit that offense, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday said in a news release. They’re set to be sentenced Wednesday, March 25.

The two offenders were sentenced to two years of probation and 60 hours of community service each - one hour for each victim, Judge Leonard Brown said - meaning they will not be put into a juvenile detention facility, while technically remaining under the supervision of the juvenile justice system. At the end of that two year period, they are eligible to have their records expunged. They also are required to pay restitution, which attorneys for both parties said would be finalized over the next 10 days. Contact with the victims, including via third parties, is forbidden.

Judge Brown said had they been adults, they would be facing a state prison sentence, but "the juvenile justice system gives second chances."

Restitution is being worked out between lawyers, I reckon.

Seems a bit light, but not sure what any jail time would do. Think money should be the driver here, for now and precedent. I don't have daughters, so wondering what fathers/etc think.

As the father of a teenage daughter, I say let the girls’ fathers spend about 5 minutes alone each with these boys.

Did they transmit or post the videos or just create and view privately?

As a father of a daughter and a son, it’s complicated by the fact that it’s fake images. I mean it’s obviously wrong, but knowing the images aren’t real makes it a little less worse. They should be punished for sure though.

10 year ban on any internet enabled device.

Sex offender registered until 25yrs old.

Stand on in front of the courthouse with a sandwich board naming their crimes every other weekend until they are 21yrs old.

If you want to stop this crap, punishment should be harsh. Stop coddling these meffer kids. Register as a sexual predator until 21, assuming they are a minor. Juvenile incarceration until they are 21. No exceptions. Nationwide so no one skates.

This would stop instantaneously.

Lancaster, PA is an Amish community. I don’t know how that fact plays in, though.

Their sentence seems extraordinarily light to me. Basically a few weekends of picking up trash or working around the church.

I'd vote for that in a heartbeat. Not sure that a ban on a device is workable, though that wouldn't be a bad idea, either. But the public "testimony" is something that absolutely should be done in lieuf of other justice.

Yep. Only gonna get worse unless states adopt harsh laws, but states say one thing and do another. Then you've got the power of the pardon, and pubs and dems have proven they will absolutely step over the public's sense of justice with that one.

Public humiliation needs to be brought back. There are a lot of crimes I'd be in favor of that rather than incarceration.

These girls were their peers? They are probably doing this to "have fun with it", which doesn't make it alright at all, but I am trying to think how things would be if, when I was growing up and had access to today's technology.

Me and two other dudes created a fake AOL screenname and got a girl we knew, to say some things she would not have said if she knew it was us and not some other dude from another state. She found out and was really upset about it. I felt bad, but on the other hand she said it so some of it was on her, which we discussed years later and both agreed we were just dumbasses in high school.

I wouldnt do something like this, but I remember some dumbasses who absolutely would. Should they have their life ruined? If they did it with kids then absolutely, but if its girls they were in school with, they shouldn't have their lives ruined, but they should definitely have a stricter punishment. Something that would drill in the fact what they did was absolutely not okay.

Stated I did not have a daughter. Typing "let their fathers have five minutes with them" on the internet just seems so ... boring. Esp when men talk about what they'd do if it were their daughter, but then say completely opposite things when it's the daughter of someone they don't like or an actual person they don't like.

Didn't mean to offend.

Don't they have such bans for adult sex predators? I don't know HOW it works, but I *think* it's a thing.

Not trying to be all edgy but what's the actual crime? This shite is a slippery slope in all directions. Let them make this into a serious felony and see where else we go. We're already well on our way to locking people up for saying mean words.
