I know it's not official yet, but it's trending that way. Woodward was a coward for treating him the way he did. He's the only LSU coach to have a Sweet 16 in the last 20 seasons. Guy was a sorry AD. Now LSU can move past that dark era and right the wrongs.

The Oats vs. Wade rivalry is now back on the menu boys. It may be a little different this time since both are friends now (he called Oats up and brought McNeese to Tuscaloosa when he could not get bigger schools to schedule them, so he was very thankful to Oats), but it'll be heated with the fanbases I guess.

Woodward's failure will finally be complete hopefully in a few short hours

His stupidity could have sunk our biggest revenue generating sports if not for massive bailouts.....but hey that gymnastics NC

Is that because Wade is coming back to LSU or because Oats is taking the NC job? I've seen both rumors flying around.

SEC Hoops is about to be crazy with Wade back in the league. Almost everybody has a good coach now. Only Auburn and South Carolina (and even he has made the NCAA) have huge question marks. The only current SEC head coaches to not make an NCAA tourney are Pearl and McMahon (who's about to be fired)

Oats buyout is $18M. I doubt UNC is willing to pony up that when there are other much cheaper coaches out there. Plus they're one of those holier than thou schools and Oats likes to speak his mind. He's seen as "toxic".

It used to be that way. It's not like that anymore. Wade talked about this a while back. He was very thankful that Oats helped them out because the bigger schools were shutting him out. Oats defended Wade when he was criticized by the press about the NC State job last year. It was in one of his pressers.

I can't believe McMahon has any defenders at this point. He's had 4 seasons to get the LSU program right. Wade didn't need 4 seasons (now going on 5) to get LSU turned around. It was immediate success for him.

Why? I know he coaches the bad guys, but from all accounts I've heard he's respected by players and coaches alike.
