China was buying at a discount and paying in their own currency.
This oil would go on the open market - paid for in USD - and the $ would not go to the current regime.

So are we taking it? Who owns it now? I'm assuming an Iranian company or is it just some other corporations operating in Iran that owns it?

That oil can be sold without penalty to buyer. Sounds like 270 million barrels are currently on the water available to be "unsanctioned" if needed.

Thx, this seems to help China, but makes leverage, Trump may want China to influence Iran towards a particular path in the coming weeks. What good is getting that money if you are living in a tent cause your house and bank got bombed? Or your assets are frozen or traced?
