Rand Paul Personalizes the Mullen Homeland Security Hearings in a Cat Fight

Paul later appeared on Fox and further made this about himself, saying that if Mullen had just apologized to him, he might have "voted yes." Not a good look for Paul, when DHS is ridiculously unfunded.
The emphasis for Paul could have, and should been on the Democrat charade claiming their current defunding is about ICE when ICE is the one DHS agency remaining funded during the shutdown.
Let's repeat that.
ICE remains funded to this day!
So Americans are being horribly inconvenienced at airports, and potentially endangered by terrorist efforts during a war, because of a Democrat tantrum. But Paul decided to put himself, and his personal beef, above that.

TSA should be abolished and never funded again. They’re worse than useless.

Didn't Massie pull a similar stunt recently?
What is in the water in Kentucky?

Rand showed how narcissistic he really is.

I also can understand why someone would punch Rand Paul!!
That was a bitch move, hiding behind his title and using that format to deal with his hurt feelings. That personality type isn't whats needed in Congress.
IMHO

Meathead Mullin isn't up for the job. He's not qualified. No better than Noem.

I'm not defending rand paul, but mullen is unhinged and supports things I do not like. Apparently he supports aid for asylum seekers. If true, then I am definitely off the mullen boat.

Noem was better looking.
Not sure I trust a guy whose name is Markwayne.

Rand Paul, like nearly every other Republican senator, is largely useless and likes to hear themselves talk.

quote:Yes it was. BTW, I don't condone Mullen's statement about the Paul attack, or his succumbing to physical threats on the Senate floor.
That was a bitch move
But there is a time-and-place for those conversations. Considering the Democrats own bitch move shutting down DHS despite ICE continuing to be funded, this hearing was not that time-and-place.

Saw that - lost a lot of my respect for Rand Paul in that episode - totally irrelevant to the topic - actually admitted he would object to him on personal grounds - no attempt to equate their squabble to anything relevant.
Always thought of him as being a stickler for protocol and tradition regardless of personal opinion.

Mullin is awful. I can't believe any actual conservative supports him. And temperament is important, especially in a law enforcement role. His comments about Rand Paul being assaulted were disqualifying, in my opinion.
