We can't fix this country through political solutions- SAVE act is just the latest example

All of our politicians are crooked. None of them are even engaging in the representative process that our founding fathers prescribed.
For these politicians, they're doing a job. They are not concerned with representing the will of their constituents. They have two goals going into politics:
1.- Get elected and stay elected for as long as possible
2.- Use their office to make money
Some might say power has a lot to do with it. Politicians hold no real power. That is wielded by their financiers. The vast majority of "political action" that you see is nothing more than Kabuki theater. Democrats and Republicans are all playing the same game, on the same board, for mostly the same people. They are just the face of the desired narrative or action of their donors.
The people who finance these elections could not possibly care less about laws, or rules, or the constitution, or your rights. They believe all of that is a veil for the reality they control.

Instead of resorting to violence, take a look at how the bill could be fixed in a way that has enough support.
In other words, take out the trash parts and keep the good parts that enough people will support.

Most people just don't want to face this reality.

Keep this in mind:

The founding fathers left we the people with a tool to address circumstances like the one we're in. I don't understand why an convention of states isn't more of a thing on the Right - and Center and Left, for that matter.

We don't need to use violence. They don't need our money. It is us they need. Our labor. Working class can shut it down tomorrow but most won't because they have to pay their bills.

I fully support SAVE but realistically, if it were to pass, how long before it would go into effect?
REAL ID took more than 15 years. That is plenty of time for court rulings, nullification bills, etc. REAL ID is ready and can be used, but I do not trust any government to use something already in place. Even if they did, the earliest we could see it is after mid-terms.
I applaud the try, but have little faith it will make a difference. Still, I will cross my fingers and hope it kills the worst political party in American history.

85% of the country wants this. Bipartisan!

Term limits will just give lobbyists more power.
I’m more concerned about the judicial system.

If our politicians don’t respect us then they should fear us. Otherwise, we have no real power in this country and subservient to them.

Did you vote for Cornyn in the primary? Everyone hates all of congress, except for *their* rep. "Senior senator will get Texas more stuff," etc.

I did not vote for him. He's the very definition of what I'm describing and in fact is one of the MIC's sacred cows. That's because he plays the game and does what he's told. I have met him several times, many years ago. He's so bought and paid for that he has a very simple job, just vote the way they say to vote and say what they tell him to say when he's actually forced to speak, which he does as little as he has to.
I personally know his office. Texas is run by the neocons and has been my entire life.
