play for their country or heritage. Good example of why it is so important to have players and staff that are from the state of Louisiana or have family ties to the university. I’m not saying it has to be all like this, but you want that cultural pride when building a team for LSU.
Teams feel too transactional with the transfer portal.

Yeah the Italian players that have never been to Italy are really laying it all on the line.

That’s where the word “heritage” comes in, jackass.

I tell people this all of the time, but nobody listens.
It is like they forget when little Shaq was born in Gonzales, little Joe was born in Thibodeaux, little Jayden was born in Vile Platte and little Paul was born in Oakdale.
Those kids born other places don't ever amount to anything. Keep preaching brother.

I agree with this 10000000%
I think it is a huge difference if someone is here for money rather than if they grew up here.

Notice how America’s aren’t?
Immigration is about assimilation to the US and there should be NO compromise
This is more related to the fan base and crowds

The basketball team has 0 players from the state of Louisiana.

And?
Consider this:
quote:
As of fall 2024, 40.4% of LSU's freshman class consists of out-of-state students, which translates to over 12,000 students from other states. This trend has been significant, with the number of out-of-state undergraduates nearly tripling over the past decade.
So, are all of those students not "real Tigers" in your eyes?
The coaches need to seek out the best players period.

They are way more likely to leave when they are done with school here. That’s for sure.
That being said, you don’t have to have good class chemistry to be successful. You do need it on a field.

Eyanson, Cowan, Dickinson, Hernandez, Stanfield all those dudes were just chasing the money right?

If you are so concerned about this then why in the hell is your location listed as TX?

Joe, Jadyen, Shaq and Paul along with a very long list of out of state players have had great chemistry with their teams and were great ambassadors for the University. But go yell at some clouds if it makes you feel better.

This is fricking stupid.
Teams bond and play hard together for their teammates, because they are a team and buy into that mentality.
It doesn’t matter whether they are originally born in the state.
I do agree that the transfer portal has broken down team cohesion because kids can switch sides at will every year, creating a “me first” mentality, but it has nothing to do with being born in Louisiana or having a Cajun last name.

I 100% guarantee you that whoever wins the College World Series this year (including if it is LSU) will not have a team that has a majority of players from its own state.

It’s buy in and team chemistry. They do not have to be from the same neighborhood or region. They just need to be of the same character and objective.
