Air Travel with a 3 year old

Dumb question here: Does my 3 year old need any type of ID to fly? We are flying to Reno late this summer.
We flew with her when she was 1 and it was a breeze b/c she slept the whole time. Anyone have any tips or trick for the long (3 hour) flight from DFW to Reno?

no, I think it's either 16 or 18 - my 12 year old didn't need anything for a trip in December. The TSA agent just asked her age at the checkpoint

Bring a birth certificate just in case, but they did not ask for anything when traveling with our 3 under 8. They just playfully did a roll call, then asked them to tell their ages.
Bring plenty of suckers for takeoff and landing. Have some favorite snacks packed in your under seat bag for her to quickly munch on
Download favorite shows on a tablet, and put it in airplane mode and verify it works before leaving the house...stupid Disney app
Get her used to wearing headphones in case you're around people that bitch about faintly hearing a kid watching their tablets. Also, plan for a 3 hour flight, 2 hours waiting, 1 hour taxiing, so at least 10 hours of downloads
Don't just sit in the terminal to wait for the plane to arrive. Have one of you roam around the airport and let her take it all in and wear her out mentally and physically. Switch off as needed.
Get her new toys/coloring books that she can play with in her seat and entertain herself if she needs a break from the screen.

I'll echo everything said.
If you've got screen time rules, leave em at the house.
Give her something to snack on during take off and descent.
Download the shows the night before or in the damn airport if you need to. 2 reasons. First, we made the mistake of downloading some stuff a few days in advance and we're getting settled in and everything is expired. Second, you want the downloads to be fresh on her mind. You don't want to be downloading Peppa Pig 10 days in advance and you're sitting on the taxiway and she's crashing out wanting Bluey.
Also, get there earlier than you would if it were just you. Let her have the whole airport experience, let her ride the tram if you've got time, eat at an airport restaurant, let her buy a neck pillow... whatever. Make her feel like she's doing something important, I guess is the way to put it. It wears my girl out and she's usually just ready to cuddle up and watch her show by the time we're in the air.

Remember, her energy is going to feed off of yours. Show up in plenty of time, bring headphones for the tablet, make sure she swallows a lot (water, lollipops, etc.) on the way up to cruise and on descent. She'll probably find the entire thing a novelty. Oh look, a lady with a cart with Sprite! My seat moves! There is a reading light up there! etc.
And 3 hours shouldn't be any sweat at all at that age. Just make sure she pees before she gets on the plane. But do show her the tiny arse bathroom that AA has, it'll probably be neat that she can't wash her hands without getting water on herself.

I try to wear mine out before they get on the plane haha - we'll go on "adventures" throughout the airport. Bring plenty of snacks. Download any shows the night before the flight. Make sure to bring a set of headphones. We promise them coke from the snack trolly if they're good.
