This illustrates perfectly what President Trump has been up against since Day 1 of his 1st term. When even "your guys" (Thune,McConnell, lyin' Paul Ryan, Cornyn, Cassidy, Murkowski, Collins, Lynn Cheney, Romney, etc.) aren't really on your side, how in the hell are you going to get much done?
In the areas where Trump has been the most effective, like shutting down the southern border, he hasn't had to depend on Congress. I swear, our whole damn corrupt system needs to be dismantled and rebuilt, but how can you do it when the scumbags in charge hold most of the cards?
May God help us.

How is he setting it up for failure?
He knows there aren’t 50 votes?
Murkowski is a confirmed no, she’s said so on the record.
Who else will vote no on securing elections?

No talking filibuster it wont get to a vote.

Just make every Senator cast a vote. That’s the first step.

No filibuster is needed if they can't get 50

Correct, 50 votes are not available today....so why try anything else, other than change the RINOs, which will not happen.

Make them vote. The pubs that vote against it are history.

Starting a civil war in the Republican party in March of a midterm year probably isn't the best strategy, especially with a war going on that can spiral at any point

Imagine being an R senator and not voting on this

What do you suggest?

Either craft more palatable legislation, don't poison otherwise palatable legislation with MAGA silliness, or have Trump act as a dealmaker to craft legislation that can pass (Something he's been very weak on his 5+ years as President)

Honest question - what's the MAGA silliness in the legislation?
