Breaking: kharg island heavily bombed per POTUS

As the saying goes, "if you come for the king you best not miss." Iran missed and now they're getting their dicks kicked in.

Funny we had a thread yesterday about him saying we should take this island over back in 80. His board lurkers got word back the PB approved.

Though can’t figure out the strategic need of this island. As it is way up far from the strait. Iran must hold it in high regard for some reason.

It's heavily militarized. It's just more of them destroying Iran's military, imo.

We need to physically take all of these islands and put air defenses on them to create a buffer for shipping in the Persian gulf and the strait.

Nah, if I had to guess the Marines will focus on the islands in the strait. Rangers or something like that may take Kharg island.

Economically it is important.

There is an island in the narrowest part of the strait that is more strategically important.

Kharg island is in the northern part of the Persian Gulf near Kuwait. We should still take it though.

I wish we wouldn’t do that. Iran can’t export any oil with the strait closed anyways. I’d like to leave as much civilian infrastructure in place so we don’t have to rebuild it.

It would rather we just occupy it and other islands in the strait. Tell Iran they can have regime change or their islands. If they don’t capitulate we’ll give the islands to the other gulf states.
