"1348 Ex Voto" is apparently not good. (The lesbian knight game). Released today.

It isn't being review bombed. 132 reviews, all with time played
47%
One positive reviewer with 6 hours in says he completed the game.
So I guess the game is less than 6 hours long.
The devs seemed more interested in calling out non-lgbtq focused games and flaming gamers on social media, than promoting their game.
And even then, people who wishlisted the game are giving negative reviews.
This reminds me of the Acolyte. When people involved in the show start preemptively attacking the people THEY NEED to consume their product, it is basically them admitting they know it is bad.
This is not the exception

Never heard of this game but this is hilarious

Knight's Path devs never said anything to them, which is amusing
It started when they advertised their game in the Knight's Path thread, where the Knight's Path dev said he wouldn't have gay romance options.
1348 devs literally did that to be the counterpoint.
That is why they were antagonized
So grok is mostly right, but Ex Voto devs definitely started it.

I wonder if the game is bad because they went for realism in the fighting mechanics and you just get physically overpowered in every fight and never win.

no. it's bad because its janky as hell coming from a studio that has never made a game before.
looks like a high school group project

"Why do you expect a woman to necessarily be attractive?"
Around 83% of console and computer gamers are straight.
Around 60% of console and computer gamers are male.
Once you delve into genres like action/adventure, the gender and sexual preference disparities only get larger. In other words, despite wish-casting ads to the contrary the majority of gamers in this sort of genre are straight males and straight males want attractive females.
The end.

Not just women, what would I rather look at running around gaming, a guy or a girl. It's why I play mostly women when in MMOs, especially GW2.

That goes without saying, but the whole pillar argument that this is "for the women" is completely bogus if you actually look at the polling that has been done. Women don't want to play as fat hags and dykes either.

do you really have less fun if your character looks like this?

Depending on the game, yes.

Is it a joke game or is it something with a story where the character’s visuals play a part?
If it is an RPG where character interactions and relationships play a part, yes, it will take me out of the game and affect the immersion.
If the main character is hideous, yet everyone treats them like Adriana Lima, I have a problem with that.

FFVII rebirth creators must feel the same. Every character looks like a supermodel
