Did y’all think it was a coincidence Jay commented on rev share during the season?

He saw his free agent signings were not going to be stars but it’s the best he could do with the money he had.

It was very uncharacteristic of Jay to make those type of pointed comments during the season like that so he was obviously trying to get a point across

Im not sure anybody could replace your starting rotation and pretty much the whole infield in one portal class. The freshman will have to step up too

I mean it is shitty to make coach J and baseball share 5% with softball, track, gymnastics and golf while woman’s basketball gets 5% and Matt loser McMahon gets 15% Coach J should get 5% Mississippi st is giving their baseball program 3.5%

Matt Moscona and the AYS guy said their was players Coach J wanted and he couldn’t get them cause he didn’t have the money or funds I don’t know who they were but it’s apparent that there is players on this baseball team that aren’t Lsu material

Landon Mack who is also in his own dilemma with his Tennessee NIL payments.

If Jay is worried about that he won’t be here long term
LSU has been competitive enough since nil came into play and is a big reason he has two natties
If things don’t change a lot of coaches will want to be at the schools that fund baseball the most
Hopefully it doesn’t come down to that with Jay

Football and mens basketball are only 2 sports that matter from revenue standpoint. 75 pct to football 20 to mens basketball and the rest can fight over the scraps and raise money on their own. This is a business now and just because we love LSU baseball it is a small piece of the pie

Preach!!! But these imbeciles still won't hear you. They actually think college baseball is watched by more than 0.5% of sports fans.

Think I'm wrong errryyboddy??? Why does football and men's basketball have BILLION DOLLAR network TV contracts and college baseball has, well, ya know?

His free agent signings were ranked very high relatively speaking.

But he is doing what every coach of every sport in the country should be doing, lobbying for their sport.

But LSU baseball is in a better position to raise more money outside the limits of revenue sharing than any other program in the country. IMHO whether he gets 5% or 15% - we'll be able to get players.

And we'll come around this year, just have some patience.

This is the first year I heard Jay complain. This is the first year under Jay we didn't land a top 10 player. I don't even think we landed a top 20 player.
We have a new AD this year, so we will see if it changes.
There is no way LSU should be ranked 13th in the SEC as far as revenue share. We are the best program in the SEC with the best coach and 12 other SEC universities supported their baseball programs more than us. That is a mistake.

Can you post these rankings or link them? Not doubting just would like to see the ranking and the source.

Also, by what means can LSU raise money for their respective programs outside of this $20.5 allocated for revenue share? And are any programs outside LSU football in a better position to raise such revenue than LSU baseball?

I got the rankings second hand from a poster who attended one of Jay's luncheons. It was detailed enough that it seemed credible but it is unconfirmed.
We still have NIL. I would assume we do well there.

I'd love to see these numbers as it has been much referenced here.

Hyperbole or not, Jay is just doing what he should and every coach of every sport should be doing, fighting for his program. But it really does not concern me - baseball has the means and support to make up for it more than any of the other sports besides football.

Now if you choose to be upset because they "should" or "deserve" to get a bigger piece of the pie, that's reasonable....debatable, but reasonable.

No doubt any additional funds baseball gets is zero ROI. Make do with what u have which he’s shown he can do.

Wait until private equity takes over. College baseball may not even exist. Those types of people tend to not like to invest in products that lose money
