Suppressor purchasing question?

I am looking to buy my first suppressor. After my research it looks like I am going to purchase a Rugged Obsidian 9. With that said it seems like their are a lot of options for purchasing suppressors.
It seems like a lot of different companies sell them online like PSA, Battlehawk Armory, Silencer Shop, etc. Should I purchase online and do all the paper work online?

Is there a place in NOLA that I could (or should) go to and purchase from them in person? Is this easier, better, or advantageous in any way?

Why the Obsidian? I frequent r/NFA and I have seen SO MANY posts about end cap strikes on obsidians. Probably 100:1 obsidians vs other brands. Idk if it’s user error or the threads on those cans aren’t concentric or what the deal is, but at this point I would avoid them like the plague.
Rugged does seem to take care of the issues after the fact, but as many times as I’ve seen end cap strikes, they should include a couple spare end caps with the suppressors. I’m not hating on the brand, have no skin in the game, but really consider if that is the can you want given its track record.

Meplat Group 504-556-2000 by appt. only. Kenny B. owns the shop, he's top notch. He has plenty in stock, extremely knowledgeable, they are turn key, 1 stop shop. (he's an atty, they do the prints, etc. all in house)

If you're ever near Jackson, Louisiana Thompson Creek Sporting goods does a great job. I have purchased a ton of 30 cal suppressors from them. They do fingerprints, pictures etc, a one stop shop. Owner Tony Linton is very knowledgeable.

I can vouch for Meplat Group for one stop shopping for a suppressor. They have some in stock but will also do the NFA paperwork if you buy online.

The appointment thing is kinda a pain in the arse if you arent local but they're very knowledgeable, have good inventory, fair prices and easy to work with. I like doing the whole thing at a table with a person rather than an online kiosk gizmo.

I have an Obsidian 9 and had an endcap strike as well. I just attributed it to not retightening as I shot. Hasn't happened again.

I want something that is user serviceable and it comes with a Neilson device. I think the only other thing I would need to purchase is like a $40 barrel spacer. I could put it on my pistol, PCC, and any rimfire if I wanted to deal with that mess. I did see that the end cap strikes are frequent, but everything else seemed to meet what I am looking for.

Okay yeah I have seen them recommended and was thinking I would be more comfortable being face to face with someone and walk through the process.
Can they still offer a good price like the bigger online dealers?

I’m not an expert on all the available options, but I recommend not worrying too much about user serviceability except for a rimfire. You’re going to be a lot more satisfied buying a dedicated rimfire can (in addition to a larger one) vs trying to make a larger one do everything.

I prefer local shop, they’ll make sure your fingerprints are done properly and photo is good. They’ll do the Form 4 properly so it doesn’t get kicked back. The only downside is local shops can only sell you what they have in stock. I wouldn’t get fixated on one suppressor. Once your ATF online account is setup, all the barriers that kept you from buying a suppressor are gone. The addiction begins

Purchased an OCL 22 can from the SilencerCo kiosk at Interstate Guns in Hammond. They were very helpful and easy to work with.
Now looking to buy a HuxWrx Flow 9kTi for my Kuna. Anyone have thoughts on the Flow? Considering the Flow to minimize being gassed when shooting.

No comment on the flow except my buddy loves his.
I think people stress out over the backpressure thing too much. I was shooting a very overgassed gun recently and it wasnt bad. Put in an H2 buffer and it was happy again.
