I am new to the launch monitor world. My budget is $2,000. I am looking for one that provides club path, face to path, AoA, and smash. Can anyone please recommend something for me? Thank you.

Gc3/ launch pro is good. Definitely over budget but high quality. I would highly recommend adding ball spin on to your parameters. I would argue with it and ball speed, you can figure out pretty much everything else.

Club data is usually something that only higher end models provide accurately. The basic monitors only give ball data that’s calculated from the movement of the ball and use algorithms to guess the club data which won’t always be based on reality. Good luck!

I think ball spin is pretty standard at that price point. I was mentioning those because some don’t offer them. For example, skytrak plus doesn’t measure angle of attack.

The FlightScope Mevo Gen2 has everything you're looking for. Its a little more than $2000 but it has no subscription and has club and ball data if you add both the face and pro packages.

Thanks. That is the one I am looking at.

Is this part of an improvement plan at the range?

Or part of a simulator setup?

Both?

Sounds fun either way.

I don’t have one, but I see some at the range.

Your budget should get a really nice one.

Both. My brother has a setup at his home where he plays different courses. He has an OG SkyTrak launch monitor. I am starting to play again and told him I will replace the launch monitor if I can go hit balls whenever I want. He agreed, and here we are. I recently took a lesson, and I was super shallow with my path right (4-6 degrees). That is why I want certain data points. Face to path isn't that important, as I can figure that part based on path and ball flight.

I'm not in tune with the launch monitor market, but I've noticed this in practice between trackman and other launch monitors.

Does he have a good cushioned pad/mat to hit the ball off?

I get a sore left elbow when I hit off mats.
Probably me more than the mats, but I don’t hit many balls when we are on mats rather than grass.

Sounds like he has room but because you mentioned SkyTrak - the Mevo is doppler/camera hybrid and needs more room than the camera based systems. I think you need 8-10' behind the ball and 8-10' of flight (plus radar enabled balls for accurate data). I'm more space limited so I went with the GC3 (probably would have regardless because its such a good unit). At that price point, the Mevo+ is legit but just wanted to make sure you had the appropriate space for it.

We do. 10 feet from the hitting area to the screen and 15 feet behind the hitting area.

Mevo will do well then. For that price range, it's almost impossible to beat.

That is what we are thinking Mevo Gen 2 with pro package.

You can find a used Launch Pro for under $2k. The $500/year subscription sucks but to me it’s worth it. I had the mevo plus. Great unit and it’s accurate. I use a tv and laptop and an outdoor net. I had much better reading with driver at 12’ from the next. 10’ was good too. My issue was sending wedge shots over the net. And my 8 and 5 year old kept knocking it down. So I just went with BLP. Plus setting up the mevo on the range is a little bit of a hassle. Plus once you hit so many shots you have to readjust or you start getting inaccurate reads. You can’t move the ball position much. BLP you just plop it down and point the alignment stick at your target and you have a generous hitting area. I also had issue of my phone or tablet overheating in the summer with the mevo.

I bought the Mevo Gen 2 with the pro package and face impact location. It should be here on Friday.

I’d look at something that’s versatile enough to take on the course. Even if it’s a little over budget.

How you hit it in the range bs how you hit actual shots matters IMO.

Look at the Uneekor Mini Lite. Not sure it has all the metrics you need, but it s supposed to be great. It’s on sale for $2,200 right now. It does have subscription fees also, so keep that in mind.

I’m just starting rhe simulator build at the house and kinda stuck on my launch monitor decision. Leaning Mevo Gen2 but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. Looking into the Square Omni that’s just coming out also? I like the idea of not having to move the unit between righties and lefties and the Mevo allows that. I’ve watched a ton of YT videos on the subject in the last few weeks and I just get more confused each time.

Was hoping to stay below $2500.
