From what I have heard is that she wanted to learn from Mulkey. That has been mentioned several times this season during telecasts. That is how I learned why she transferred

MiLaysia Fulwiley left South Carolina for LSU in April 2025 to seek a fresh start, escape local distractions, and pursue a different, more "free" playing style, ultimately aiming to develop as a point guard under coach Kim Mulkey. She cited a desire to play with more freedom and align her career goals with a new, challenging environment.

I think she originally went USCe more because she was from there and family wanted her to stay close. She also was frustrated with not getting clutch minutes late in games, and felt LSU and Mulkey would give her that opportunity. LSU has an amazing staff which probably helped us as well.

The Latson girl came from Florida State. Raven’s best friend and high school teammate. Fulwiley knew that would mean even less playing time
