Oil filter doesn’t come with oil change anymore… I just paid an extra $31 for an oil filter… last oil change I’ll ever pay for … will do it my damn self from here on out

Cost of the filter has always been a thing, usually just combined.

I've never heard of not changing the filter with the oil and that not being included. Like the filter is what really needs to be changed most of the time with today's synthetic oils.
I've always just done my own. My old man made me learn and do my own when I started driving. Now in my 40s I enjoy doing it and kinda look forward to it.
