Good Will Hunting is streaming free on YouTube premium right now. I haven't seen it in a long time, I forgot how good it is.

How do you like them apples?

It doesn’t stream freely when you have to pay for it.

I think about how it was written by the same guys who starred in it, at a very young age relatively speaking. And it was actually good, and won an academy award for best screen play. Has that ever happened before? Where the star of the movie also wrote movie and won best screenplay?

The service is to watch YouTube without ads. Every once in a while they'll throw in some free movies, which I consider a perk. I'm not paying for premium for the movies. So it's half dozen the other.

I watch YouTube more than anything else, in fact, other than football, it's the only visual media platform I consume. So it's definitely worth it. For me.

Others should consider.

Rocky is close, nominated for best screenplay but won Best Picture.

Were Matt Damon and Ben Affleck theater kids? They definitely don't come off that way and the film feels incredibly authentic.

It's not your fault, Will.

Matt Damon was. I don't know about Affleck, but they did grow up together as friends, so if one kid was a thesbian, Affleck probably was too.

I just remembered Sling Blade.

"1997 Winner Oscar
Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published"

Billy Bob.

ETA- another fun fact.... that was the same year they gave best screenplay to Matt Damon, and relelgated Thornton to best screenplay based on blah blah, a novella that Billy himself wrote.

I guess sling blade didn't have enough star power to get the big one.

Granny Smith for baking, otherwise it's Arkansas Black for all other purposes.

I went through almost 100 movies with my oldest before he went off to college and this was his absolute favorite by far.

It’s not mine but it’s fantastic in every regard and a great testament to 90s film making at its’ best.
