President Trump’s energy agenda has resulted in oil and gas production reaching the highest levels ever recorded.
To enable oil to keep flowing into the global market, the Treasury Department is issuing a temporary 30-day waiver to allow Indian refiners to purchase Russian oil. This deliberately short-term measure will not provide significant financial benefit to the Russian government as it only authorizes transactions involving oil already stranded at sea.
India is an essential partner of the United States, and we fully anticipate that New Delhi will ramp up purchases of U.S. oil. This stop-gap measure will alleviate pressure caused by Iran’s attempt to take global energy hostage.

Pretty cool. Domestic oil production grew like a beast under Obama. We hit record production under Trump 1.0. Record production under Biden. Then record production under Trump 2.0.

It is nice having a President mostly get out of the way and not constantly bashing industry, and to promote removing red tape for project approvals through the BLM/Department of Interior.
But overall, between the shale revolution and a bill during Obama's second term lifting the decades long restriction for companies to export domestic crude oil overseas, production has continued to grow steadily, with the exception of COVID price crashes causing wells to be shut in and production decline in mid 2020 to early 2021.

I believe California was going to be importing the summer blend from India. If that’s correct this move helps us out and provides additional time to get Hormuz opened back up. So we won’t see $10 gas during summer. This is a move to help with the midterms out here.
