Great course, great people who run it too. Everyone is pretty chilled out.

It’s been since the end of last summer since I’ve played it though.

Pro tip…. Go to the Island View in Gulfport and get a players card, then go play it. It’s a great discount, it’s close to half off. At least it used to be.

Yeah its a fun little course. Doesn't take itself as serious as a preserve or grand bear. Fairly priced and in good shape the times I played it.

Played it last Saturday. Fun course, smallish quick greens. Has some elevation change too

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm doing. We have 2 free night's stay at Island View and with the players card I got a discount. 85.00 for a round so I figured I would go give it a try. I just started playing last summer and I was wanting to check out other courses beside all of the BREC ones i been playing.

Also checked it out on the website and it looks like the fairways look narrow.

Fun course. It’s really not narrow at all. I spray the ball all over and stay in play. 18 is about the most wide open tee shot you’ll ever have. .

Greens pretty slick with some elevation. Pretty chill as others have said.

I made my first and only hole in one there on #8 so the course definitely holds a little place in my heart!

Grand Bear is just up north of 10 on 49. A good bit of the time you can play it and not see a ton of people. It’s definitely a change in pace to what you see around here.

Lots of elevation changes and you’re in the middle of a pine forest.

Not to forget Shell Landing in Gautier…. Also another super chill place that’s always in great shape.

Now, you still have the Preserve and Fallen Oak as the 2 premier places out there. I guess you could say that Grand Bear is #3 with Fallen Oak being 1 and Preserve being 2. To play Fallen Oak you have to stay at the Beau.

I've played grand bear twice, loved it. Played The Preserve 2 weeks ago and what a course! For "winter" time, it was in great shape and the greens were insane! Played Shell Landing several years back. I need to get on Fallen Oak next.

Stayed at Golden Nugget several years back when we played Shell Landing. Stayed at the Palace 2 weeks ago for the Preserve. The deal they had was not bad at all. A nice panoramic corner room suite for 2 nights, 2 rounds Sat and 2 rounds sunday, and I think we paid around $850.
