The LNG shipping rates have surged due to escalating Middle East conflict: US/Israeli strikes on Iran, Iran's retaliation, and effective disruption of the Strait of Hormuz (key for ~20% of global LNG). Qatar halted production at Ras Laffan and declared force majeure, sparking panic buying of vessels from US/Australia/West Africa sources on longer routes. Rates jumped from ~$40k last week to $300k/day as supply tightens.

High dollar shipping is never good for any product.

Don't care. Could care less. Doesn't affect most of us in this country, thanks to DJT, and winter is over.
The only time I use it is at one of my properties, in a subdivision, when the Generac cuts on or when we're there using the gas stove or the on-demand Rhinai gas water heater.
These high shipping rates will soon pass.

NHK (Japanese media) reported this earlier today:
quote:
Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested that his country may stop supplying natural gas to Europe.
Putin made the remark in an interview with Russian media on Wednesday amid growing concern around the world about the stability of oil and liquefied natural gas supplies due to the Iran crisis.
He said it would be more profitable for Russia to stop supplying the European market right now. The country is one of the world's largest gas producers.
Putin indicated he will instruct relevant ministries and agencies to work on the issue.
The European Union decided to ban imports of natural gas from Russia by November 2027 following the country's invasion of Ukraine.
But Russian gas accounted for about 10 percent of the EU's total imports of the fuel last year.
Analysts say Putin is apparently trying to pressure the EU by cashing in on the Iran crisis as the bloc continues to support Ukraine.

A lot less with spring having sprung and it's going to hit 90° here next week.
I'll care less as each day comes.
So will most others. It's an afterthought.
By the time cold weather returns, this will all be over and shipping rates will be back to normal.
I hope LA and TX benefits from it greatly. I lease property to a pipeline that runs from LA to Augusta, through SC and up to DC. As long as the juice runs through my little strip, I get paid so GO LA and Texas! Keep pumping that LNG!
