Man accused of killing his daughter's rap*st wins the Republican primary for county sheriff in central Arkansas.
Aaron Spencer, who is awaiting his murder trial, received over 53% of the vote in Lonoke County.
Last year, Spencer announced on social media that he was running for sheriff because the legal system had "failed."
In 2024, Spencer allegedly woke up to find his 14-year-old daughter missing from her bed.
Spencer searched the neighborhood and found his daughter in a car with 67-year-old Michael Fosler, according to court documents.
He then chased the car down and drove it off the road before shooting and killing Fosler.
Fosler was facing over 40 child s*x crime charges involving Spencer's daughter when he was shot.
Spencer's wife says their daughter was "targeted, groomed and ultimately r*ped by the boyfriend of a family friend."
"I’m the father who acted to protect his daughter when the system failed," Spencer said at the time of his announcement.

He just beat the sheriff who tried to prosecute him.

That’s a pretty good indicator to the DA he ain’t getting convicted by a jury of his peers.

Sheriffs don't decide to prosecute people. District attorneys do.

Killing a pedophile who raped your daughter should be 100% legal to the point of throwing a parade for the guy.

Right. But what I'm saying is that they didn't have to charge him, imo. His daughter was 13 years old and was abducted by this guy who was facing dozens of felony offenses.
The guy forced the dude off the road who had his daughter in his truck with him. There was an altercation, and he shot the guy dead. They should have let the guy go essentially on self defense type charges.

Sheriff made a choice to arrest him because the sheriff was friends with Fosler (was/were) the Pedo who was former law enforcement
The Sheriff there deserves to lose more than just an election

I don't think there is any chance the guy is going to be found guilty.

Come on dude everybody here knows that, and knows what the poster meant. Also, the lead investigator is often the “prosecuting witness” and is exempt from sequestration and sits with the prosecutors at the table during trial. So, actually the sheriff’s investigator is often very much a part of the prosecution effort.

Arkansas has a stand your ground law. You are authorized to use deadly force if you or someone else is about to be victim of a violent, felony offense. Not only was there an altercation before the shooting, but apparently there was a history here of this guy abusing his daughter.
Lethal force in this instance seems entirely justified, imo. No chance he is found guilty and he just defeated the guy who decided to allow this to go to the point where it is instead of just letting the guy go. Which he could have done. And should have.

I may get a downvote. When my daughter went thru puberty 13yo she was susceptible to young men, but not 50-60 year old men. Her mother also failed her.
I took my daughter out of a house where a 17 yo boy let me in because he knew i was coming in regardless. (his parents were gone for the weekend)
A woman called me to tell me where my daughter was. She was supposed to be spending the night with the woman and her daughter.
Her daughter was angry at mine for winning the fight over who won him over. Her divorced mother called me to say what was up.....the next morning.
He seemed OK to me. (as in polite and didn't lie that my daughter wasn't there)
In no way did he "rape" my daughter.
17 yo boys and 14 yo girls do what they do.
If he had been 50 or 60 it would have went much different. Big time different.
I was a divorced dad. Full custody. Young girls need good mothers. And dads.

DAs can’t prosecute unless a file is turned over by an investigatory agency.

So a dead guy on the side of the road with bullet holes in him shouldn't result in some kind of police report?
