I honestly don’t see how the US gets the regime change they want without putting boots on the ground. If the US doesn’t - the Chinese will play the long game and flood the country with capital

No boots will go on the ground lol. This will be over in 2 weeks

China will play the long game though. They will just wait for a democrat president again

This board was claiming victory about 5 minutes after the first bombs landed. Even if we don’t send in ground troops it won’t be over in 2 weeks

I don't think Trump is looking for the kind of 'regime change' everyone is debating the merits of. He's not going to bring American-style democracy. He just wants an Iranian to take the reins who will be obedient to the US. Same thing he did in Venezuela. This isn't going to be a boots-on-the-ground regime change war.

I'd go with less than a week. This will not be anything like Iraq.

Agreed. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just stop funding and arming its proxies in the ME.

Disagree. It will take some boots on the ground. I don’t think it’ll be anywhere near Iraq levels but there will be some.

You are going to change your mind once they are on the ground though right?

Maybe come up with a new talking point like MAGA is doing with the "we've been at war for 40 something years" bullshite.

The regime is likely going to survive and be strong enough to put the population down again and kill thousands more.

Look what Israel did in Gaza and Hamas is still a thing.

There is a 30% chance you get enough defections from people with guns inside Iran to have a chance at internal regime change.

3 options are:

1.Army changes sides, new government.
2.Regime sort of survives and you get some kind of hybrid, old and new.
3.Regime survives/waits out bombing and suppresses population again through terror and mass killing.

Anyone claiming to know what will happen is foolish.

Sure. Will you change your mind when we don't? I bet you said we were getting into a drawn-out war with Iran a couple months ago, I bet you said we were getting a drawn-out war with Venezuela, I bet you said we were getting a drawn-out war with Russia, I bet you said we were gonna put boots on the ground in Gaza...how many times must you people be wrong on Trump before you start taking a wait-and-see approach. He's batting 1.000 on foreign policy.

So the Trump administration is going to try to install a pro-west dictator, overthrowing the country’s military and religious leadership, without putting any men on the ground and expects that it will all work out?

I don’t know if the Iranians will be just as willing to let Trump control their oil.

We killed Ayatollah and 49 top Iranians. What more did you want in the initial strike ?

It will be up to persians, israeli’s, and gulf states to ensure Iran succeeds

He just did it a month ago in Venezuela. Someone will take power and he will tell him stop attacking us and our allies or you will be killed too. We just showed we can take out the top 50 people in their government in 24 hours.

It’s probably going to be China dumping capital I to the country to rebuild it if not the USA
