I think it’s just another term for an ace, with ace defined as best pitcher. Whether he is an elite ace in the SEC remains to be seen.

Sure, it’s more tradition and pageantry than strategy

Just switch up a guy who is getting a rhythm. Makes total sense to me.

Pitchers matchup with hitters, not other pitchers. You think it matters but it does very little. It’s a preference

Interesting. Jay certainly isn’t the type of coach to push away strategy in favor of tradition and pageantry…

There isn’t much difference from Moore & Evans. Evans has a much higher upside. One guy has 16 career starts, the other like 5-6. The Evans disrespect is weird & ignorant.

Agreed, but Casan deserves to start SEC play in the role. After what he proved last year and coming back as a leader he has earned it. Plus, Evans-Moore vs. Moore-Evans is going to be strong either way and won't make much of a difference.

Yeah I am going to have to disagree with you on this.

There’s something to be said about putting your most reliable arm out first so that you give the team the best bullpen set up for the weekend.

I don’t think it’s wrong to throw your best pitcher on Friday. I’m not sure you understood my point that it doesn’t really matter.

Not at all. In February against Middle Tennessee Baptist Catholic State yes... but when you are matching up against Hunter Elliot on a Friday in mid-April you want to have a dude on the other side. The order of Evans and Moore may not matter too much (Anderson-Eyanson didn't last year), but you need a dude on Friday in this league.

Are you ignoring the fact that the team that scores more runs wins??

What does that have to do with what I said?
