LSU is sandbagging to get Guidry wins instead of saves

Love Guidry. Cooper Moore says hello.
Doesn't matter either way. Both have looked good so far. I like Guidry coming out of the pen. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Guidry = MONEY
I know he wanted to be a position player/hitter, but this young man is a PITCHER.

I was downvoted a lot when I posted that Guidry could be a starter. It could be one of those things where he has someone else start for a few innings and then brings him in for the remainder of the game. I thought before last season there was a comment that Johnson made regarding him starting or working towards being a starter. I just can’t find it.
Regardless, I think if someone is in trouble in the second inning, he’s coming in the game first unless it’s a matchup deal with the lefty, and he would be expected to finish it.

It is early. He will get his chance like everyone else.

Not so fast my friend

So far, he is the most consistent true, but it’s different when you are called on to start a game.
The strategy changes insofar as getting 6-9 outs is just getting warmed up.

This is true. Guidry’s bulldog mentality make him great out of the pen. If he started with that same mean streak, he might over do it early and empty the tank
Same could be said for Casan but I’m not giving up on him as a starter yet

Jay will do anything to win. Make no mistake none of them are safe to start or close games. As soon as he sees a weakness, he is pulling that player.
You would think he would have learned from last season with Eyanson. Jay pulled him when he got in trouble too quick. Later in the season, he let him pitch through it. He doesn’t have that feel yet for the guys he does have including all 3 of them on the weekend.

This is exactly why he won't be a starter on this team. Jay has had a guy every year who he could lean on to come in and eat several innings in a high-leverage spot (think Cowan last year, Herring 24, Cooper 22-23, Hurd, etc.) Was thinking this year would be Cowan again, but he hasn't looked like it in limited action.

He’s the teams best pitcher if the sample size remains 2 innings at a time
