He's not throwing 101 but he's upper 90s with a solid slider. I like the energy he brings... sort of like Guidry.

Sheerin is much more polished than Shores.

I liked Shores, but he didn't have an out pitch unless batters chased 102 out of the one.

I think Rizy fits this role more, but Sheerin has the fire on the mound

I believe he has the most upside of anyone on the staff.

Shores really didn't do much until super regionals but then he looked about as good as any stopper I've seen. He didn't have a put out pitch but his slider was decent and guys had a hard time keeping up with a running FB at 101.

I don't remember, though, if he was throwing that hard all season or if he brought that out in the postseason?

He was throwing that hard all season, but did NOT have elite control early in the season. Down the stretch he was pretty great.

He was throwing gas all season, but had location and consistency troubles all season due to timing out his pitch with his long frame. He worked through it and got way more consistent in the pist season and was almost unhittable at the end of the year

Shores and the staff made adjustments to his position on the rubber and his windup/the stretch, and it did wonders for him. They did this in may of last year, he was nails ever since

Sheerin is going to be super important as the year goes on.
