Noticed this pretty high up on that “Forbes top 100 movies of the 2000s” list that was posted last summer and that it was on Netflix. Got around to it last night.

Pretty much a soft core porn but it’s pretty solid as far as Mexican cinema goes. Coming of age story of 2 horny hs grads traveling to a make believe beach with a recent young divorcee. Could have gone without the 2 friends making out at the end but other than that I thought it was good. Captures rural Mexico in the 90s really well and the scenes at the beach are great

It's hard to believe that Alfonso Cuaron went from directing that to directing Harry Potter.

Diego Luna's breakout role. When I first saw Rogue One, I was like that's the guy from the Mexican movie I used to look for late at night in high school.

This was the absolute Holywooed media/Oscar darling of that year. It was incredibly hyped, much like Amelie was a few yrs later.

Never saw it. Never will see it.

Kinda like Roma back in 2018 also from Alfonso Cuaron. What a snooze fest that was

More so for Gael Garcia Bernal.

Good flick.

It was hyped and following on the heels of Amores Perros which is a great movie.

Loved Amores Perros back in the day. Got bored with Y Tu Mama fairly quickly and wound up checking out.

Damn good movie, terrific acting by the three leads. Bernal was a really good actor in this, Amores Perros and El Crimen del Padre Amaro. All three excellent movies.

If you like him and/or Diego Luna, check out Rudo y Cursi. It's a good one.
