GLP-1 and Weight Maintenance.

I’m currently down 35 lbs looking to lose 20 more.
For those who have lost weight on a GLP-1 how did you manage to keep the weight off after you stopped using the medication?
Any and all suggestions and advice are welcomed.

Are you exercising at all? Or just the shot/pill?

You must lift weights, track protein and hydrate. Once you have been tracking protein and calories daily for months, you can ween to the lowest dose for 6 months to a year and then maybe stop.

If you don't develop good exercise/eating habits while on the meds you're not going to keep the weight off when you get off of them.

I have stopped exercising at the moment which I’m not proud of but have focused on relearning portion control and avoiding sweets in place of protein for treats and snacks.
I’m on the lowest dose of tirzepatide taking the shot and have been on it now for 4 months. I was 235, down to 195 at the moment and looking for a goal weight of 175 which I haven’t been since high school I’m 40 years of age. Worked out routinely before the medication and lost about 10 lbs but had a bad problem with sweets and cravings and could not lose much more.

If you go back to eating junk and being sedentary you’ll put it right back in and more.
Work out and eat whole foods. Hard to get fat if you stay active and don’t eat highly processed foods.

Exercise, eat right and take care of your body. GLP-1 should only be viewed as a kick-starter/aid.
It's like Yogi Berra said, "baseball is 90% mental and the other half is physical." Same logic applies here.

So... why did you quit working out?

No excuse other than work and life.

Sometimes life does get in the way of stuff, does it not?
