The Chinese are an old, creative, industrious, highly pragmatic and collectivist people. The Great Wall speaks to their innate ability and intent re defending their culture and heritage. It is no surprise that they adopt the Collectivist/Marxist economic model for their particular situation.
In today’s competitive economy they will work circles around most of their competitors. And embrace virtually any strategy which advances their national prosperity interests. And their Military strategies as well. Credit where deserved.
America is at the end of our Individualist economic model as irresponsible, immoral and a highly problematic demographic of our citizens neither can compete and contribute to an acceptable degree or even exist without being an economic and existential violent threat to society given their many sociopathic tendencies. And DEI Marxists exploit envy and moral grievances and many weaknesses to democratically challenge the Constitutional Republic Capitalist System. The Constitution version only works for a “moral and religious people” who police themselves.
Bottom line. Our System is fast becoming obsolete and inept toward dealing with the above. It will be interesting to see how MAGA strategists handle the coming “fundamental transformation “ of America. It will surely be Authoritarian governance from one side or the other. The struggle to determine which side holds formal power is the issue. Political discourse and voting and Judicial ‘Rulings’ cannot solve this riddle as they ARE the problem.

Folks. China does some amazing things. But, just like the Soviet Union before it, it’s all veneer and facade. Of course, the airport looks amazing because that’s what people see first when coming to China. (So does the new MSY terminal. And the new LaGuardia. And the new SLC.)
What they don’t show you is the massive poverty there. The inability to move out of your social and economic bracket easily, The coming demographic cliff. The empty ghost towns with skyscrapers built for no one. They are so obsessed with building and competing that they dredge their continental shelf so they can have enough concrete. Their cities are so polluted that everyone wears masks just to be able to breathe.
Are they formidable? Maybe. Are they smart? Definitely. Is this airport representative of what the whole country is like? Heeeeelll no.
