My company has been decimated by Tariffs and it's not a product that can be made in the U.S. if we tried. It is beyond our material capacity and the ownership of most of the production is already foreign owned.
It's a grift.

Well what’s the product? Can’t
Be made domestically? Is it ivory?

The USA is the worlds third largest producer of cement. Sounds like a you problem.
The market always sorts itself out. Whether that means your company makes it or another company finds a way and takes over is anyone's guess.

No, the amount needed cannot be made domestically. And the domestic supply is 90% already foreign owned. Imports are crucial to The USA. This is why concrete prices are high.

How, if it's not a product that can be made in the US, is your company being decimated by tariffs? Why not simply pass the tariff costs through?

You are a moron. Cement is logistic heave and as such a cement plant in the middle of Kansas can't supply product to the country no matter what.

What is the tariff rate you were/are paying?

It depends. Only a handful of countries are able to provide cement to the U.S. Turkey, Vietnam, and Egypt (less so) are big exporters. Turkey was the main supplier for us and it's 15%
