I was given a bunch of sheets of used corrugated metal from a shed that was torn down.
I'd like to use it to build a shed and I'm looking for the best way to fill in the old screw holes.

Get a few rolls of pennies and a tube of marine silicone. Glue a penny over each hole.

If it were modern ag or R panel you could fill holes with lap screws. Prolly won't work as well on corrugated.

Through-the-roof sealant will work for a long time. NP1 will work for a very long time.

Best thing is to lay out your purlins/runners so you can reuse the holes.

I'm pretty sure I used the flexible stuff in a roll. You cut out the mesh to be a little bigger than the hole, squirt some tar around the hole and set the mesh in. Then you cover the mesh with tar. It's just there so that the tar doesn't drip through the hole before it dries and leave it open. For pin holes I just use tar. I have about 40 rusted sheets from an old barn in my backyard that I've been slowly patching. IDK what I'm going to use them for but we used to use the screen/tar method on an old haybarn at the farm I worked at. It worked well there.

I use Flex Seal, that's how I patched the screen door on the bottom of my boat!

Closed rivets with rubber washers work well.

A rivet or screw or nail over time will become elongated and not a perfect circle.

There is not a silicone made that will be a permanent fix.

When copper was first used as roofing, copper was melted and used as sautér.

Everything you use will be a temporary fix. Not permanent.

Sure, but its an old shed roof. Assuming he isn't putting this over his living room.

NP1 in many environments will last many many years, 10+ most likely.

My understanding is you should never use silicone in a direct sunlight situation.

shockingly the flex seal paste is the best thing I’ve used. It has worked for a decade on my little shed, although as the other guy said the best solution is to space your nailers so you re use the holes

Absolutely, I held classes for 950 roofers at Disney World and preached this.

Until we forced them to rework the sections where the installation forced us to.

They never figured it out.

I got some Childers CP-11 Mastic and vinyl screen from one of the plant baws out here and I'm going to give that a try next weekend.

Thanks for all of the suggestions.
