I have a used car coming in and am looking for recommendations on a good detailer that can do some paint correction and rock chip clean up. BR/P'ville/Gonzales area.

Why would you spend all that money detailing a used 2017 Hyundai Elantra?

Mel’s on Siegan

Edit: VIP (Kind of behind Celebration Station) is really good, It can just be difficult to schedule sometimes because they get booked up.

Yeah. Most legit detailers are expensive. If you are just looking for a wash and wax then you don’t really need a detailer.

If you want someone that’s going to paint correct and clean the inside of your vents with a toothbrush then you go to a detailer.

After detailing, do you have the knowledge of how to properly clean your car without damaging the paint?

I’m not being snarky. Most people don’t know how to keep paint nice.

I offer that you also need that knowledge before choosing a detailer. If you want things done right.

For reference, it takes me 3-4 hrs to handwash my 1/2 ton crew cab. It never goes through automatic carwashes with brushes. I bought it new and told the dealer not to wash it before I took delivery.

Generally you get what you pay for.

Are you looking for a true pro detailer or the same guys the dealerships use?

K Fauls does a good job for the money on daily driven vehicles. I had to stop by in person to get an appointment as they didn't really return calls in my experience.

Not H20 auto spa on Jefferson, total clown show.

Hi performance detail is also a good shop.

You need to understand there is a difference between a pro level detail/paint correction and a $200-$500 "detail" job for a daily driver.

Haha I actually do. I went down a long rabbit hole on YT a few years ago watching AmmoNYC videos. It won’t be run through a car wash.

Did you buy the silver one in Covington with 35,000 miles?

Well worth a professional detail.

Spend the money and detail it right.

And dont get hard on the gas on corner-exit.
It spools up quick

I actually talked to that guy in Covington. He was high on his price and it wasn't stock. Said his buddy built it up for track days, which is not what I was looking for. Found a stock one with 52k miles, 10/10 VINs and an ap1 for that 9k rpm redline.
