Just looked over the schedule for the last hour and simply cannot find a loss. Less than 60 regular season wins and I think Jay’s seat gets a little warm.

Any concern here that we are hitting our stride too early?

Hate to play our best ball before May

It’s pretty aligned with the consensus opinion during early season schedule.

We will lose a game in the next week or two and the consensus opinion will be that we will be lucky to go .500 in conference.

100% serious. I expect to win every game. You all should have that same mindset. Probably why so many of you are soft as baby shite. Scared to be great.

There's a big difference between expecting and hoping. In this day and age, any given team has about a 1% chance of doing that. See below

quote:

No NCAA Division 1 baseball team has ever gone undefeated throughout an entire season. The most dominant recent, albeit non-D1, performance was the LSU Shreveport Pilots (NAIA) 59–0 record in 2025. While no D1 team has completed a perfect season, the longest NCAA D1 winning streak is 33 games, set by Texas in 1977.

When LSU loses their 1st game, how long before the fairweather fans call for his dismissal?

Jake brown in pace for 37 HR in the regular season.

Its actually hilarious that if he kept this pace up he’d still need a postseason run to catch Larson.

Even if you’re not joking I love the optimism! This is Undefeated team until proven otherwise!

If the 2026 baseball team was the equivalent of the 2019 football team what would their record be?

In the game thread just as soon as we lose.

The expectation to go undefeated, especially in baseball, is the kind of mindset that makes our fanbase so unrealistic and downright delusional. Are you going to call for Jays head like idiots in the past, if he drops a series or two? “But muh expectation!!”

2023 baseball was essentially 2019 football. Burrow, Jefferson, Chase = Skenes, Crews, White.

2023 baseball went 54-17. Anything less than 15 losses puts you in GOAT territory.

Too soon.

Tonight could be one of those “that’s baseball” games.

That’s a very good comparison with the top end equivalent players. Skenes = Burrow, Crews = Chase/Jefferson, White = Helaire. But that record IMO didn’t reflect the talent on the team…Nor did that team dominate like 2019 did in football. The 23 team had to battle out of the losers bracket to face UF and got absolutely blasted in game 2! Of course they did return the favor and redeemed themselves in the finale’!
All this to say 2019 was the GOAT therefore I believe the baseball record should have at least 1 more win or 1 less loss than 1975 Texas (59-6) or maybe 1 win better than LSU Shreveport ….59-0!
2026 could be that team!
60-0!!! LOL!
