Also saw him open for SD in Charlotte. Strange show. There were probably only a few hundred folks seated when he began his set.

he killed what was The Doobie Brothers. I give him credit for all the projects and songs he has or was involved with in the yacht rock era, but man I loved the Doobies as a kid and they were ruined. Toulouse Street and The Captain and Me were peak Doobies

I don't disagree. I much-much preferred the early Doobies.
Sort of like Sammy Hagar joining Van Halen. It ruined two bands - Hagar's and VH.
