Bank Fishing for Sacalait

I am in my 70's, and most of my fishing friends have either passed or have quit fishing. I continue to fish, but it is getting harder to launch and load the boat by myself. I am in the Metairie area and would like to know where I could go to catch some sacalait off the bank. Thanks.

Around Metairie there isn’t much. You could try the pumping station off Prescott rd a d airline highway in montz. Some of the ditches off 3127 in st Charles you may catch a few.

Segnette state park and Pier 90 boat ramp always has someone catching a few while I’m launching there.

Come on guys. This guy is needing a fishing buddy. Somebody on here has got to be in need of a partner. If you were closer you could just go with me.

Agree you need a younger fishing partner to learn the ropes on boat ownership.

There aren't many young guys that want to fish. One of the problems started years ago, when our great lawyers started filing lawsuits against marina operators who had hoists. I do not know of any marina that operates hoists any more.

Bearhc, I have a place on Diversion. If you live around the area, it would be an honor to fish the cypress stumps with you. I’m sure you have a few more lessons and tips to teach.

I've got a 7 or 8 acre pond in Ponchatoula you could fish from the bank.
Also I've never launched anything bigger than a kayak but I'd be willing to hold the rope to get it in the water. Wouldn't mind learning some boat etiquette as well.
I'm usually off on Mondays, shoot me an email lucas.burge86@gmail.com
