why isn’t the WH touting this chart re: student loan reform? Seems like a big success

The federal govt only subsidized 4% of student loan repayment in 2025 due to OBBB legislation. It’s the lowest % since loans began.
the government now expects to get back almost as much as it lends out.
A few things are driving this:
- Limiting loans to graduate students
- Rolling back loan forgiveness through income-driven repayment
- Kicking low-earning degrees out of the student loan program
These are high quality reforms. They lowered the subsidy while increasing progressivity of repayment and maintaining built-in forbearance.
This could start bending the tuition cost curve, as schools no longer can milk the subsidization cow.
Instead of posting this, trump is rambling about 2020 “fraud”
I don’t get it

Why is it good that this is limited to only graduate students?

Who will be the first Democrat politician to run on student loan forgiveness in the next election cycle?

Thank Jesus for this. Those leeches get 4 degrees in basket weaving and are saddled with $200k in debt they will never pay (or pay off) so it’s bad debt to the govt.
They all work at newspapers as a nobody or do “art” now. I know this bc I dated one sadly while in college. Yikes.

I may be wrong but I think it's the opposite. We are limiting approval on loans requested for grad degrees. OP is a notoriously shitty poster. It's hard to tell.

He means limiting the loans GIVEN to grad students.

The federal government needs to get out of the banking business....they're fricking broke and stealing from US taxpayers, while contributing to a calamitous debt spiral.
