Does not compute.

Do you mean streaming services? There are many. YoutubeTV. Sling. DirecTV Streaming.

Through trial and error I have found YouTubeTV to be the best streaming service by far. Hulu was a pain because it didn't allow you to FF through commercials. The rest, Fubo etc, have other flaws.

I have no issue with YTTV in 3 years I;ve had it.

Switched from Firestick to Roku 5 years ago due to buggy interaction with older Sony Bravia. If you like Amazon Prime, Firestick integrates with it. The Roku world is simpler. I doubt if many compatibility issues exist now.

Travelling, I find AB&B's more likely to have Roku, and I can sign in with my account. I usually remember to delete the account before I leave.

If you have a newer smart TV it will have basic streaming capability built in. You do not need a stick. Best reason for using a stick that I've heard is that Roku and Firestick frequently upgrade their inexpensive devices while your TV's capabilities will remain static.
