Twice. Catfish was pretty good but the sandwich not so.

I brought a loaf of Leidenheimer bread to the deli early morning-10 ish before they were making po boys and asked her if they could make a po boy out of it instead of the other bread they use. I'LL PAY THE DIFFERENCE IN COST. Yep.

Dude comes up and says "You know you are going to pay for the bread extra because it cost more than what we normally use."

Sure; no problem and I expected it.

"Don't think we will do this all the time man because this just doesn't work like we like it."

Not a problem. Sorry I tee teed on your cheerio's.

"Next time you come in you better just get the bread we use or we won't make this for you."

Not a problem. How about this? You just keep that piece of shite po boy that she is making and I'll go somewhere else. While I'm thinking about it, how about you put this $150 or so of groceries I have in this cart back on the shelves. I'm easing down to Hi Nabor.

"a-hole."

Thank you and you are welcome. By the way, did anyone ever tell you your bread tastes like crap and I was just trying to make a better sandwich and the wonderkids on tigerdroppings.com/foodanddrink will flame you for not making a sandwich with Leidenheimer bread/

"a-hole." says the man with the Queen's English vocabulary.

Thanks again. I hope you realize we are in the great depression two and customer service is making a comeback.

I won't buy a newspaper in that store. He shite in his nest.

Good luck Ralphs. I'll give the much more accomadating Hi Nabor my business.

Exactly my thoughts as well. I find Ralph's to think think they belong in the damn Country Club kinda attitude, they skimp on their lunches, charge more and act like they could care less if you even are there.

And Hi Nabor may be OLD, not new and shiney, but I pass right by Ralph's and go get a lunch At Hi Nabor on a regular basis.

Hi Nabor is owned by good people. I know some of the Crifasis and they truly appreciate their customers.

I have only lived her a short time and I will drive by all the other stores to go to Hi Nabor. Each time I go there the staff is very friendly and treats me well.

that mentality comes from their pelican point location in gonzales .. they are rolling in business down there and think it is going to be that way everywhere else no matter what they do ..

funny you say that Tini, ralphs treats me well...i will sometimes have them order an extra 20 packs of twin loafs of leidenheimer that we ship to my relatives.... very nice about ordering all that extra bread and keeping it set aside until i come in.....

I like ralphs fresh chicken sausage patties, chicken salad, and catfish...

just remember the folks in the deli are probably pretty ignorant folks...the types that can only focus on one set of rules for their job...anything outside of that throws them off...kinda like Milton in office space

Whew! OK, I worked with Debbie Crifasi. That must have been her sister-in-law.

WTF?! from an inside source I will tell you that you are off. the PP store isn't doing as great as he had hoped.

fwiw, I have eaten at pretty much every grocery store due to my job and I will say that Mathernes on Bluebonnet is by far the best.

WHo the hell is your inside source?
One of Ronnie's boys?

I knew the original Ralph and helped develop the business plan...Ronnie bought it (after Ralph died) and screwed the whole thing up.
