It is his way of getting the democrats to beg for their release so he can not be blamed for prosecuting his political enemies. He knows he's clean.

Trump and Elon played the Left like nothing I’ve ever seen.
For four years, the Left was in power and ignored the Epstein files. Did nothing with them. Wouldn’t answer questions about them.
Trump says that he will release them. No one on the Left says a word.
Next, Elon says that Trump is in the files. Suddenly, the Left wants to see the files.
Trump calls them a hoax. The Left whips itself into a frenzy to see them. Demands to see them. Obsesses over it.
Trump releases them. He’s not implicated, but they are spelling disaster for the Left. With each new batch of files, it gets worse and worse for them. First, it was Clinton. Now, it’s discussing Pizzagate and child sacrifice. Gates is named. It mentions Biden being shot in 2019, and that an actor played him during his presidency. A lot of powerful people are searing right now.
They asked for it. He gave it to them. He knew all along. He let them destroy themselves…
