District 5 race looking to be a field of career politicians and aspiring career politicians. All we need is Xan John to enter the field!

Blake Miguez accepts lots of money from pogey boats. Anyone that helps destroy our fisheries will help destroy Louisiana. People that vote for him are legit dumbasses

Libertarian candidates have done this

Miguez has the most conservative voting record in the state legislature yet the clueless bought the fake news that he is a RINO.

Being bounced from a senate candidacy and then immediately leaping into the house race looks cheap and opportunistic. If he’d have waited, then maybe I could see it. Now I’m just annoyed with him and I’m ready for him to go do something else. I already have enough shitbag career politicians representing me and this guy just looks like he can’t wait for the sweepstakes for a lifetime at the trough.

I know Blake. Anyone claiming he is a RINO is an absolute moron.

Then ask him why he’s taking Pogie Boat money. Two foreign companies and a few seasonal jobs vs all the recreational fishing industry and out of state anglers. Doesn’t sound very conservative to me.

Because jobs are important and needed in places like his district. Those fish also have to be processed. They buy fuel and other supplies. They generate tax revenue to the district/state. You're still free to fish recreationally.

Actually, the pogie boat issue is something I learned yesterday about Miguez that has me ready to say Frick Him.

I’m now more convinced he’d be good in DC as a conservative who doesn’t get a vote in the Legislature on any attempts to make the pogie industry abide by the same offer rules as other states.

Jobs that destroy the fishery are not jobs we need in Louisiana. Have you ever researched all the pollutants they illegally dump into local waterways? Ever walked the beaches during their net spills? Muh jobs!

Lol such a stupid statement. Pogey boats are a big part of the reason why limits are lower for redfish, why tarpon are not near the population in Louisiana they once were and also why shrimpers are crying about imported shrimp. Do some actual research before posting here again. Dumbass.

Maybe. I don't know. Does that generate tax revenue?

I'll admit, I've been out of Louisiana for a while now and not real hip to the issue of the Pogy boats. But I was around long enough to see some crybaby fisherman acting just like the douche bag tree hugger nerds, thinking only they were entitled to fish or utilize Louisiana waters and no one else.
