Seems like Reed got wind of the decision and made a quick exit plan.
My suspicion is it’s minimal to no points will be given to LIV.

I'd imagine kicking a guy out of the league because he's not Korean isn't a path to OWGR points.

Kozuma told Sports Illustrated that he didn’t learn he would not be part of the Iron Heads — rebranded as Korea Golf Club — until reading about it on social media.

Yeah… that’s what it was
Reed’s OWGR improved during his 3.5 year run with LIV… any extra points from LIV would have been gravy

Kozuma did not have a contract & finished outside of the “lock zone” (top 24). What’s the issue, specifically for OWGR?

Asian Tour (especially International Series) gets the biggest win here. This gets the clearest direct boost:LIV has a formal partnership with the Asian Tour via the International Series (elevated, high-purse events backed by LIV/PIF money). Starting in 2026, all newly contracted LIV players are expected/required to play at least 2 International Series events per season (in addition to their 14 LIV events). These events already award full OWGR points, and LIV players' participation strengthens the fields ? higher field ratings ? more valuable points for everyone (including rising Asian Tour talents). With LIV points now limited (and only top-10), many LIV players—especially mid-tier or those not consistently cracking top-10—will lean harder on these Asian Tour starts for extra points, form-building, and major qualification insurance.

I thought LIV was going to make golf louder?

Are they turning the music down?

Pride is in absolute shambles this morning. He assured us this would NEVER happen.

I think he said as long as they have 54 hole no cut events they won’t get points. Well LIV is now at 72 holes and is now getting limited points.

How many get points on DP Tour? Everyone who makes the cut?

Yeah in PGA tour, DPWT and KFT events it’s everyone who makes the cut. In non-cut PGA tour events everyone gets OWGR points regardless of where you finish.
LIV has to quasi merge with the Asia tour to make this work, and their top ten finishers only are getting points. As far as total points up for grabs LIV Riyadh is right in line with upper tier Korn Ferry events and mid to lower tier DPWT events.

Kind of ironic that OWGR put out a statement at the end of the year too that said they would award 75% of the point to 54 hole tournaments… so kind of a double loss here for Mr. Pride

Did LIV start doing cuts?

I said LIV would never get points until the had an actual open tour with relegation/qualifying
Nothing to do with cuts or holes as ever the issue. Only top 10 getting points is kinda shocking to me at this point. Thought it would be closer to 25
They gave LIV points without actually making them viable.

Quite the mental gymnastics there
Using this week’s field rating just as an example, if you went back & included Niemann’s 5 wins on LIV in 2025, I believe he would currently be around the top 12 on OWGR (he’s currently #155).
Now I don’t expect him to have another year like he did last year because his game has really fallen off since the middle of 2025, but this is a significant win for LIV.
With the recent news with Koepka & Reed, the golf “establishment” had the chance to put the nail in the coffin on LIV here with OWGR & the fines for DP Tour players.
Unfortunately for most of the golf board, it looks like LIV will be staying here for awhile.

Ehhhhhh that seems like quite the jump. LIV deserved some points, which they got.
The feasibility of the league (at least in the United States) is still up in the air. Losing Bryson or Rahm would torpedo what feels like a sinking ship.
