Runts are the last retro candy I would go looking for. Or maybe 2nd to last before rock candy.

You can get them online. A couple of Christmases ago my kids ordered a whole bag of the banana runts for my gift.

I think you can still get them both at Tractor Supply. Definitely the Charleston Chews.
The Banana Runt hate is shocking to me. In an all time fatty move, I used to pick around those and save them till last.

Fun fact. The banana flavor in runts and other banana-flavored candy is an extract recipe that was made from a species of banana that went extinct.
That’s why the flavor of a banana candy and the normal banana we know aren’t the same.
And we will never get to taste the banana that they use for banana candy
