Was very underwhelming. The build-up had great potential and was riveting along the way but I thought the conclusion of season 2 was weak sauce and left a lot of meat on the bone.

Thoughts?

Apparently blew their wad in Ep 5. Big let down for a finale, IMO. Hugh Laurie is a great villain, though.

Agreed. It didn't feel like an ending at all. I would have looked for another episode, if I hadn't known there wasn't one. Hope a new season will be shot soon.

Goddammit if this is how the show ends what a pointless season.. They better make season 3 and soon.

I thought it was a good finale. Unexpected.

I wasn't familiar with the book and figured that Roper would die tonight and Pine would win and that would be the end of the series, but obviously that wasn't correct.

I really enjoyed Season 2 overall. My only issue is how Roper is supposed to return to London and everything will be normal. Assuming a new identity and creating a new life as an aristocrat in the middle of London wouldn't really work in 2026. But obviously it's just a TV show adapted from a novel.

Couldn’t fricking believe that ending, wow. Thought it was a really great season though. Enjoyed the first one a little more but loved this one as well.

I'm definitely a fan of the show. Liked Season 2 a little more. It wasn't as predictable. Season 1 got in a rut where Roper and Pine would be new best friends and do best friend stuff together, and then the next episode and the episode after that they'd go to a different location and do the same stuff.

Also thought that Pine acted a little too pretty in Seson 1. Not in a really gay way, but he did a better job in Season 2 of being rougher around the edges and not acting like a pretty boy all the time.

Disagree - I liked it a lot. Completely unexpected.

The bad guy wins. Love it.

I thought it was good but MAN did it piss me off.

That Sand Snake had my girl Olivia (Angela Burr) merked. I want revenge.

Warning -SPOILERS

OK. I finally got around to catching the finale of the Night Manager. Overall, I enjoyed Season 2, but the last 15 minutes of the finale seemed contrived and thrown together, as if they found out at the last minute they would get a season 3. Overall, three things that seemed really last minute and contrived: (1) the two airdrops came out of nowhere and for no reason. Teddy was on the inside for too long not to know about that. They had already killed off the prosecutor and would have had no reason to have a dummy airdrop. (2) The private detective swooping in to save Pine at the last minute was silly, and (3) there is no way Angela Burr doesn't move locations and go into hiding after her confrontation with the MI-6 woman failed. Killing her in the same house she was in earlier in the show made no sense.

Highly recommend this series. Watched the finale recently. Masterful. As others said, it's awesome how the bad guy wins...for now.

Look forward to season 3 which was confirmed when they announced there would be a season 2 back in April 2024.
