Ryan Miller, Murray State
A longtime assistant, Miller got his first head-coaching gig this season, and has led Murray State to a 16-6 record while sitting second in the Missouri Valley standings.

Miller, the older brother of 17-year NBA veteran Mike Miller, was an assistant at Creighton under Greg McDermott from 2021-25, and was also an assistant under Dixon at TCU from 2016-21. He also coached at Memphis as an assistant under John Calipari, along with stints at Pepperdine, New Mexico, Auburn and UNLV.

Why would they even want him back? He’s either washed or doesn’t give a shite anymore, and I was probably one of the most patient people in the fanbase with him and his situation. McMahon is Curly Hallman level bad at this point. He needs to be sitting at home just like BK after his career is over here

The Murray St. job was open at the end of last season. It's entirely possible MSU would have welcomed McMahon back (though maybe not because they had just fired a Murray State retread - Steve Prhom).

I'm not 100% convinced MM wasn't assuming LSU was going to fire him so he could get some buyout money AND take a job he wanted. Instead, for reasons beyond on the court results, LSU's AD defied logic and brought back the objectively worst coach in the conference for a 4th year.

Now, Murray State is performing well and that job won't come open unless Miller leaves on his own. But even if he does, Murray St will have realized going with "new blood" is probably a better option than a retread that failed in his major conf. stint. Hell, you could argue Woodward screwed MM big time by bringing him back for another year. Last year he may have been able to go back to a friendly job. Now, when LSU fires him, there likely won't be a good mid-major spot to land.

Maybe St. Louis and LSU could do a coach swap?

Why do you think I call him McHallman?

The only time I want LSU to ever lose a game in ANY sport is when the HC has proven that's he's IN OVER HIS HEAD and is Toast.

Loses will just hasten that departure.

You have to see the "Bigger Picture" and accept short term negativity (Loses) that will lead to long term positivity. (A new HC)

Mediocrity is unacceptable at LSU and how so many on here just totally embrace it is mind boggling to me.
