Will be interesting to see how Corey barber factors into the wr rotation

He’s the program’s highest rated wr since Brian Thomas I believe(still criminal now low nabers was out of HS despite being a 4 star) and the first 5 star wr we’ve had since kayshon boutte. Kiffin and McDonald in 2 months already brought a higher rated wr then Cortez hankton did in 3 years here.
I know we loaded up at wr in the portal but barber’s ball skills, explosiveness and hands will make him hard to keep off the field. Think that kid develops into a dynamic weapon for us by the end of his first year

It’s really impressive actually as to just how bad LSUs entire offensive coaching staff was. Including head coach. I don’t think a single one of them could do anything remotely average and yet they were getting paid as much as any other position coach/coordinator in the country.

to be fair, Cortez had the number 1 WR committed in July EVERY SINGLE YEAR. Do you know how much skill it takes to get the No 1 WR paid by another school every year?

Five stars don't come to sit anymore

He should see the field early and often. Lane loves this kid.

Lol. We have so many star gazers on this board.
All of a sudden we have a bunch of threads about this kid and how great he will be because one of the recruiting websites gave him a 5-star rating. No one was talking about him before that.
We now have tons of expectations for the poor kid all of a sudden even though 99% of the posters on here have probably never seen him play.

Speak for yourself as soon as there was buzz that we would flip him after we got Lane I watched his film and was immediately impressed with his ball skills, speed, quickness. I’ve said several times on this board before his updated ranking came out that he will be a dog for us. I don’t think that take is fair at all when he flipped to us many folks on this board including myself were impressed by his film. Many folks even noted the diff type of wr archetype he was compared to guys that Cortez hankton recruited as hankton many went after big ,physical , athletic types of wr like Shelton Sampson, taron Francis and Kylan billiot. Barber fits the lane mold of a wr in terms of downfield speed, separation ability , and sure handed

Why didn’t you start this thread before now then?
You weren’t confident enough in yourself to make that evaluation until you saw a website give him a fifth star?

9 games can be played and still get a redshirt season. Nobody will sit unless they not good enough

Well, you're a bad poster but at least you're consistent.
There was another Barber thread yesterday where several people chimed in and raved about what they've seen in him watching him play.
But, yes, Doofy, most of us on this board haven't seen most of our HS commits play, unless there's a Hudl link posted here. As a hardcore LSU fan, I'm just a fan and don't schedule my life around going to see HS studs on Friday nights all around the state. Do you?

Definately expect some end arounds, or deep shot looks here and there for him. Probably only 1 every game or 2 since alot of mouths to feed at wr and te. Especially since in lanes offense hes going to have a 3rd or 4th cb, safety, or olb on him.. could be what Hilton was supposed to be taking the top off defenses, or just do it once and keep them honest any time hes on the field, and helps the run game. Great problem to have at wr : his film is great

I literally made a post on January 6th about how the addition of Corey barber and Jabari Mack makes up for the loss of taron francis so you’re wrong. Fans like you are just forever miserable lol

You don’t know that I’m doing that, and my posts have received more upvotes than downvotes through the years.
Carry on

Good topic. Let's do the math. LSU has 13 WRs on the roster. Charlie Weis Jr said before the Ole Miss season started, that he ideally wanted to use 7 WRs this past season, to keep everyone fresh. But, he ended up only using 5.
If Weis does end up using 7 next fall at LSU, like he'd prefer, who are 6 that don't play?
I gotta think the most inexperienced freshmen are prime candidates. So, that's Barber, Jabari Mack, & Brayden Allen. Let's say Barber impresses enough that he does play & makes the group of 7, theoretically, that means Mack & Allen plus 4 others (returnees/transfers) might not. Who are they?
Phillip Wright?
Malik Elzy?
Tyree Holloway?
Josh Jackson?

No you didn’t. This board needs to stop with this shite
You didn’t watch his ‘film’ - you watched his ‘highlights’
Also, if you actually were to watch his ‘film’, you would need to know the playcall and what his responsibilities were on the play to have any idea wtf you’re looking at. You don’t have the access to that info. So stop the madness. Odds are, you have no clue what the hell you’re looking at IF you even have the right clips
This post is not an indication on my feelings on Barber. I think he’s a phenomenal football player. I’m just tired of self proclaimed pundits on this board acting like they know wtf they’re talking about just because they’re 191-0 all-time (not including the 73 times they restarted a game because they were losing in the 4th quarter) on their Xbox dynasties
