Protests in Iran started on December 28, after the collapse of the rial, the country’s currency, and the protests swept the country for about two weeks. The government responded with force, arresting and killing thousands of protesters.

It is. But, you also had the leader of the free world go on social media, draw a red line and tell the protesters, "Y'all hang in there help is on the way!". That red line was then obliterated and now we know that tens of thousands of protesters have been killed after the head man promised there would be hell to pay if it happened.
