The Civil War will be an election. The American people against Trump and MAGA.

No one realizes how bad a modern American civil war would be. You have one side out throwing hissy fits and toddler tantrums about everything they think is "unjust" or "offensive". And then you've got another side that just wants to remain civil, getting pushed beyond the breaking point but still holding back.

It might start with one event that causes some actual battles in the streets of big cities in blue states, but it will be an absolute bloodbath administered by the "red team" (if you will). The "blue team" will quickly abandon the illusion of just outright killing reds in open conflict, seeing their losses and feeling a great overwhelming vengeful spirit, and begin a campaign of surprise terrorist attacks on non-combatants and guerilla warfare tactics. The "reds" will adapt and respond with sevenfold ferocity and an absolute bloodlust.

We really don't want what's coming. No one here is actually prepared for it even if, like myself, you've seen this coming for years and been doing everything in your power to prepare as adequately as possible.

It's going to be cataclysmic and seismic. Nothing will be the same again, ever, and the ramifications will touch every corner of the globe, with all the foreign actors that will inject themselves into the fray for their own self serving agendas. When we cross the event horizon (which is believe already happened in 2020 but for the purpose of this comment will pretend is about to happen), the USA as we have known and loved it is essentially dead.

Whatever emerges from the ashes may be better and may be worse, but it will never be as strong as the Union and unity that got us to this 250th year as a nation.

Those that want to glorify the thought of fighting a bloody war and seeing reddit larpers get pwned in the streets of Portland, think of the bigger picture. We should tread very lightly and do everything in our power to avoid escalation. At least then, you actually have the moral highground to say "hey, we tried our best, but have it your way".

Imagine your family being attacked by some rogue faction of the lunatic fringe, and having the epiphany that local police and the National Guard won't help you. You're on your own. You fight them off but they'll be back. So do you leave your family to form a posse/kill team to hunt them down and prevent it from happening to someone else? Or do you do nothing except for coordinate a better defensive strategy with other neighbors and locals? These are the scenarios we'll be facing.

TL/DR: We really don't want a civil war.
